What would you like to commit to?

Posted on Jun 12th, 2009 by Centria : Full Moon Centria
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 12, 2009:

This may sound really corny.  Or too airy-fairy-pie-in-the-sky.  Or too "of course".

But I want to commit myself to love.

To remembering that I am love, we are love and Gaia (in all of her many guises from this community to a shining gleaming Universe) is love.

It's so simple.

We make it way too complicated sometimes.

In the past five days my meditations have been simply Being in that space of love before the first thought, before the emotion from that first thought, before anything else.  Returning to love like a Disciple of Love.  Bathing in that light which shines through all of us without effort.

Over the years I have come to this space from many different angles.   From dreaming.  From thoughts.  From physical actions.  From love.  From awareness.  From presence.  From the moment.  The pendulum will probably swing back to another doorway.

But all the doorways dissolve in this feeling which presents itself in every green leaf, in every wildflower, in every face, in every song.

I love you all.  Thank you for being.  That's all.

Speaking from my own perspective, for whatever that's worth, I don't believe your answer is “too” anything. I think it's perfect.

To love and love and love (and yes, sometimes it is that simple),

Siona, (smiling) I was kinda thinking about how sometimes…when I'm not in this place of feeling such encompassing love…I'll hear people talking about love, love, love and only hear it from an intellectual place. I love you Siona and love what you're doing here.  Keep up the good work or play or love…

Love is the “why”, why are we here, why do we do this, why will we do that? Love is our light burden to bear and to pass on to the generations.  It is the most important commandment, next, of course to love love your Creator with all your heart, all your mind, and all your soul.  We are instructed to “love your neighbor as you love yourself”.  A very light burden and so hard, sometimes, to carry on.  Three cheers for you!  You hit the Jackpot!

Before the first thought, before the emotional fallout from it, before anything, love. It sounds so obvious, what we're all aiming for in one way or another (even those of us who don't know it yet). And yet, we (I) often struggle to remember to follow this very simple alogorithm: Before anything, love.

Being present, staying centered, following the breath, we come naturally to “before anything, love.”

Thank you, Kathy. I think I have a new mantra: Before anything, love.

Love!

Sometimes I'll write- I love this; and know that some will feel I'm being facetious; but you know what, it's as you say- it is about love. And so far, ain't no other word better'n that to express it!

As Marianne Williamson said, Love is all there is. Yes, Kathy - it is that simple. Love seems to be the very ground of our being, before moving out and crystalizing in form and manifestation.

We are BEING IN LOVE!

Hi guys, I started to catch a thought of not-love coming through.  An inner thought which chastized, “You should have responded to these comments before now.”  (and its accompanying feeling of subtle inadequacy.)  But awareness caught it right away, saw it wasn't true…and here we are again.  In the love space that we are.  Thank you to all of us for recognizing this.  Re-membering it fully.  Even if we need to keep re-membering it again and again.  Blessings, all.

“But I want to commit myself to love.”

Here! Here!

I'm on board.

Fortunately, I think it is the other way around and its Love that is committed to us. ;o)

It is what we are before we had ideas that we had to do something to be it or be worthy of it.

That innocent thing we did naturally as kids.

I am filling up the truck with gas one day. A man pulls up in an SUV full of kids. He gets out and starts pumping Gas. Next thing I hear is “I Love You Dad” like it was the most important thing in the world he should know in that moment. Then suddenly one, no two more I love you tooooooo Dad!!!! He leans his head in the window and says I love all of you!

By this time, I am standing, staring, smiling, suspended in time when he looks around at me. He smiles. I'm just standing there with a big fat grin.

That was love too.

God I love those little gifts so much!
Nothing had to be done or accomplished. Love was just there… naturally.

Standing suspended in silence, smiling, there was the gift of love.
.
Knocks me out every time,
Ben

Beautiful Kathy. I thought I would share One Morning Prayer with you. It is how I start my day.

My goal today is to treat all life with respect and love.

To appreciate all the contrast I create;

.

it is my gift of awareness.

I will offer my service freely and graciously without hesitation or fear.

Find humor and laughter in my daily expressions and experiences.

Follow my impulses and make conscious choices.

Be spontaneous, energetic and enjoy each moment of the now.

Be grateful for the opportunity to expand my awareness.

Love my self as I love my source as

I inhale abundance and exhale appreciation.

Lucienne, Nicola's poem so beautifully and exquisitely expresses this love that we are.  Thank you for sharing it with all of us.

Zennie, I do so agree with you.  Love is committed to us.  Behind and beneath and above and around all things.  Love is…  and yet, if there's nothing to do, the world wouldn't be in such pain and suffering.  I think there's a place where doing/not-doing dance together and apart.  I think our “doing” is awareness.  And that our Center knows what we need to do or not do in order to remember the love that we are, the love that is so committed to us.  When I don't do anything…I often fall back asleep into reactive patterns.  When I try to do something…that doesn't work either, as it's pushing too hard.  But somewhere between the not-doing and the doing is conscious awareness.  And in that awareness is the golden breath of love.  That which exists before the first thought, the first creation.

Hal, what a lovely prayer and way to start each day.  I do believe focusing in gratitude helps us remember this sacred space which is the All.  Thank you!

Apparently I have missed you Kath! Just in case you come back for a quick visit I will leave this little doing\not doing experiment for you to try for yourself and come to your own conclusions.

I understand that it appears based on our thoughts that there is an efforting and a chooser who decides what to do or not to do. Then, we either do it or not. It seems simple, true, and what happens.

Is it actually the case?

Let's not listen to the mind on this one and find out for ourselves by asking some simple questions about our assumptions and checking it out.

Have you every moved a foot, a hand, a finger, or something. Did you decide to do it before it happened in every case?

Can you tell me the next thought that you are going to have?

Can you even tell me if you are going to act on that thought or not? Can you really know that is true?

Is the decider really the thought or the impulse to act on it? If impulse, where does that impulse come from and do you have control of it?

Have you ever had the experience where you would have never dreamed you would do something, and found at some point you did it, and could not really say you were surprised that it happened?

Since this is an experiment, I will take whatever you have to say or not say about it.

Great Discussion!
